Serving as General Contractor, Savko recently completed the $63 million Norfolk Southern intermodal facility at Rickenbacker in Columbus, Ohio, on track and four months ahead of schedule!

Marty Savko, Sr. vice president of Nick Savko & Sons, Inc.  (left) accepts a ‘job well done’ handshake from Wick Moorman,  CEO Norfolk Southern Railroad. The event occurred during the  formal opening of the $63-million Norfolk Southern intermodal yard at Rickenbacker in Columbus, Ohio. Savko was the general contractor for the year long project, that was completed four months ahead of schedule.

Bottom photo: The American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE)  selected the Norfolk Southern Intermodal Facility at Rickenbacker for its Outstanding Highway Industry Project Award for 2008. To recognize the general contractor, Nick Savko & Sons, Inc., ASHE presented an etched glass plaque to the company. This was the second time that Nick Savko & Sons, Inc. has received recognition from ASHE. In 2005, the society named the Lane Avenue Widening Project, for the same yearly honor.
