The heavy equipment from Nick Savko & Sons, Inc. can stop traffic. Literally. Recently, the company began transporting excavating equipment to northeast Ohio (Findley OH area) to work on the CSX Trans-Shipment Terminal, an 800 acre site that is seven miles wide, Savko will serve as General Contractor for the multi-year construction project. Shown in the top photo is one of our Komatsu PC-800 excavators in transit, complete with Ohio State Highway Patrol escorts. The PC-800 can excavate and load approximately 8,000 cubic yards of earth during a 10-hour work shift. The PC-800 is one of three 185,000 lb. excavators assigned to the CSX project.
